The Bruins capped off their impressive 1983 season by winning 7 of their last 8 games, securing the Pac-10 Conference title with a 6-1-1 record. They went on to dominate the No. 4 ranked Illinois Fighting Illini in a decisive 45-9 victory in front of 103,217 fans at the Rose Bowl.
