Description

Under manager Al Lopez, the 1959 Chicago White Sox finished the season with a record of 94-60, clinching the American League pennant by five games over the Cleveland Indians. Nellie Fox and Luis Aparicio were the team's catalysts, with Fox batting .306 and Aparicio scoring 98 runs while stealing 56 bases. Chicago's roster also included veteran stars Larry Doby, Ted Kluszewski, and Del Ennis. On the mound, 39-year-old Early Wynn was outstanding, finishing with a 22-10 record and winning the Cy Young Award. Bob Shaw also shone, going 18-6 with a 2.69 ERA. Although the White Sox ultimately lost the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, their season remains memorable.

Offered here is a 1959 Chicago White Sox American League MLB Championship Ring, presented to Simpson. We were told it was Perry but believe it was Harry Simpson. Please message Scott with any questions. This stunning 14K Balfour-manufactured ring features a single round diamond set on a large blue stone. The word "WHITE" appears on one side of the diamond, with "SOX" on the other. Around the bezel setting, "AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 1959" is engraved in relief work. The manufacturer's name and 14K mark are stamped inside the band. This ring is approximately a size 11.5 and weighs 34.9 grams. It is in near mint condition with only a few light dings or scratches. This incredible piece is a testament to a historic season and would make a great addition to anyone's collection!
